Reaching for my phone,I play one of my favourite songs Aduke my Tjan,a Nigerian artiste, Gosh Nigerian musicians are one of the best musicians in the world,getting the vibes from the song,i sang my way into the bathroom to freshen up,i brushed teeth and quickly had my batg, i have to meet meg by 9:30 and this is 9:20,if I don't arrive early,

I"ll surely get an earful from meg,i quickly dressed up and went downstairs, reaching the last stairs I could perceive pancakes sizzling on the fire yummy, let me go and steal small before I go out, i enter the kitchen,seeing my mum cooking,she works from home where she runs her fashion business,she admantly refused my dad hiring a chef because she loves cooking,I kiss her cheek "Good morning mum,where's dad? "Good morning hun and you know your dad,he's already at work" My dad is a workaholic but even with that he still makes time to hang out with me,he's my best friend and dont tell my mum but i prefer my dad to my mum.

"Where are you heading to?" "Oh I am going to see meg" "So early?" "Yes mum so early". She faces the pan to remove the pancake on the fire and i use that moment of distraction to try and grab pancake when suddenly i felt a smack on my arm, "ouch mum,alright since you want your only child to starve to death then let me start heading to meg's house where I will be fed"
i say placing emphasis on the fed "oh love,you're not going anywhere today,you will be following me to Mrs pears house today,we're having an all girls picnic today and i promised her I'll bring you along" "But mum I am 22,you can't keep making decisions for me without telling me first, you can't make decisions for me" "See your mouth,go and change joor,we're leaving in 10 mins,i grumble but I still go upstairs to change not knowing that's the day I will meet the one who will ruin me.

Present
I try prying my eyes open when I am hit with the strongest headache I've ever felt,it feels like there's a marching band in my head,I quickly shut my eyes. After a while,I feel the headache subside and I open my eyes,wincing a bit,why is my room so dark?
Argh is it already night time? Why does my room smell like drugs?. I try sitting up when I feel soft hands engulf me in a hug, "Mum is that you?", "Yes love" how are you feeling?", "Just a slight headache,umm mum can you please switch on the room light,everywhere is so dark".

I suddenly hear my mum break into sobs,what's wrong with this woman,because I asked her to switch on light that's why she's crying, old people jeez "Mum why are you crying?" "Harmony love don't you remember?"
"Remember what?" And then it hit me,catching Richmond and Meg in bed together, the accident.
I feel tears trickle down my face, "mum am I in a hospital? Why is everywhere so dark? Am I dead?".

I ask in one breath "baby,you need to calm down","I am calm,now please tell me what's going on" "darling,you're..you're?" "I am what mum?" "You're blind". I hear a bang in my head,I hear my mum screaming out for the doctor and then it's lights out for me.

Deborah's pov
Seeing my daughter in such condition,breaks my heart into a million pieces,seeing how she reacted to the news of being blind frightened me,
I wonder what her reaction will be when she hears the news of her baby's death alongside her father's death,will she slip into a coma or worse will she die? I can't be both a widow and childless,not at all.

But i can't hide such news from her,if she finds out later she'll hate me for sure,my daughter is an inquisitive girl and she'll get suspicious of her father's absence,I can only delay the truth but I can't hide it. I was lost in my thoughts when,I felt someone tap me,I flinched in fear and turned making me come face to face with doctor Richard, the doctor in charge of Harmony's treatment, "madam are you okay? You seem stressed, i have been calling your name for quite sometime now but it seems like you've been out of this world".

See this doctor telling me I seem stressed, I am stressed,my daughter is lying there on a hospital bed fighting for her life, what should I be,happy? Or should i throw a party in the hospital,rolling my eyes "how is my daughter doing?"
I ask ignoring his stupid questions ma please follow me to my office with him leading the way to his office and me sauntering behind.

Meg and i are the complete opposite both in character and in looks; Meg is tall and petite,with eyes as blue as the ocean,she has a shining m blond hair and even with her slim stature,she has big boobs which as she says is ber most priced possession,she loves wearing heavy make-up and short clothes where as i am average in everything both height and size with brunette hair and brown eyes which I like to describe as honey wells in Sun. I hate make up, I love dressing simple,with my jean and a shirt,and if anybody doesn't like me this way then fuck them.

Some people may describe Meg as a rude,bad mannered and snobbish bitch, but i believe if you get close to her you'll get to see her sweet side, even though at times she can be dangerously competitive with me but I don't care,when ever she does something wrong or looks down on people who she perceives as below her I always scold her,I don't care how she feels,that's just how I am,I am a no nonsense person, if you do any how I will show you anyhow,I will tell you your fault to your face,worse thing Is that you'll beat me but my words will still ring in your head

"Hello babe, Harmony where are you,I've been waiting for you,we'll be late for the interview, don't tell me you stopped by the flowershop again,you better come here now and fast".

Remember when I previously said I'll get an earful from Meg,this is it, "Calm down Meg,I am sorry but you'll have to go for the interview alone, Mum says i have to follow her to a boring all girls picnic and no i can't refuse,once again I am sorry", I hear Meg whisper Thank Goodness before she hangs up. What does she mean?,I wave the thoughts of meg off my mind and start getting dressed before she comes and screams her head off at me.

Meg's Pov
I had been waiting for harmony's arrival while silently praying she doesn't come when I received the best news of the day,she can't come, God bless Mrs Deborah, now don't get me wrong,I don't hate harmony but I know for a fact that if she follows me for the interview,she'll surely be picked as the p.a of the CEO,and I have read many stories of CEO's falling in love with their intelligent,sexy and smart mouthed assistants and Harmony has all those attributes.

Even though Harmony was born on a silver spoon,she had always like to work things out herself, she had always liked make and spend her hard earned money. She was the one that even got both of us this interview,she was the one that bought this apartment i am currently staying in,both of us were supposed to live in it together but her parents had insisted she stays with them being the only child. She has helped me in so many ways but I can't help but be so envious of her,she's rich,I am poor,even though she doesn't wear make-up and doesn't believe she is beautiful, she has a face to kill for unlike me,I have to wear make-up and dress sexy,the men that go after me cannot be compared with the men that goes after harmony even when she wears only a top and Jean trouser God why did you create me like this,I really need to get rid of the envious feelings.

After saying that short prayer,I look at my time,it's 10:05 and the interview starts by 10:30, thank God i am fully dressed,I quickly rush out of the house (I can't say it's mine)not forgetting to lock it sha, I quickly hail a taxi and in the next 15 mins,we arrive at RICH COMPANIES LTD,I pay the taxi man and properly arrange my dress before walking into the magnificent building.

Mum are we going for a picnic or are we going to seduce one of your friends, my mum giggled, you're one crazy child,now go and change. Back in my room,I skimmed through my clothes,searching for a supposed sexy gown,I was still searching when I saw a black flair gown that my mum bought for me on my 20th birthday.

Not surprisingly,it's still my size,for two years now I have not gained an ounce of fat despite the large quantity of food I eat. I wore a black sandals to match with my gown, then packed my hair into ponytail,time go to the parlour or maybe the kitchen cause i am starving, arriving in the kitchen, I saw a plate of pancakes and a cup of coffee,just the way i like it.

Awwwn I guess my mum doesn't want me to starve to death,probably wants me to live long so that she can disturb me. I was chowing away on my food when I heard my mum shout that we will be going in the next five minutes,I quickly downed my coffee,cleaned up and arranged my gown before going out to meet my mum in the car and we went off.

Arriving at Mrs p mansion i couldn't help but drool,the house was so beautiful, it was made out of glass,you may ask did I just say glass? Yes,I said glass, there was a statue of an angel at the middle of the compound,bodyguards were everywhere.
Entering the mansion, I realized I couldn't compare the outside with the inside, the outside is like a baby compared to the inside, the inside was magnificent, it was decorated with different types of paintings,oh I wish i could put this house on my head and carry it home.

I was still ogling at the house when Mrs p walked out from the kitchen,oh Deborah,how are you,you must be harmony, I have heard a lot about you,you look so beautiful,thank you ma,oh don't call me ma,it makes me feel so old, come and have a sit,as soon as we were sitted, my mum and Mrs p started catching up while I let my roam around the house,when my eyes settled on the staircase, that was when I saw him, coming down the stairs,with his blue eyes,golden hair and cute face,I couldn't help but stand up,when I reached,

I squatted to pat him,oh my what a cute puppy,he started wagging his tail and rolled over for me to tickle him, I was still playing with the puppy when I heard a deep voice say he must really like you,he doesn't play with people, it was then that the puppy was chained and a guy was holding it,when I looked up at his face,it was like i was looking at Zeus,so handsome and muscular and sexy, harmony calm down,he stretched his hand for a handshake,hi my name is Richmond.

Two months later
I am currently at my father's grave, sitting here gives me some kind of peace,even though my dad was always busy,he was still there for me,he was never too busy for me,I loved him so much,I remember the past events that lead to me finding about my dad's death After waking up,the darkness reminded me of my dilemma, I am blind,but I guess that's not the end of the world,I can still move, I still have my family to support me,speaking of family, I had not heard my dad's voice ,I had asked my mum about his whereabouts but my mum had given me several excuses for weeks,

It was the voice of the one who i had once given my heart to,the one who broke me,caused me to lose my eyesight and my father,the one who destroyed me, Richmond. "What are you doing here and who allowed you here" I growled "Harmony" "I asked you a question What are you doing here?" "Ivan" I yelled,Ivan is my personal bodyguard "Yes maam" "Take this man out of here"

"Please baby just hear me" "Who is your baby?" "Look just hear me out " i hear him while scuffling with Ivan "look i am sorry" "sorry for what? For cheating on me? For causing me to have an accident which resulted in me being blind? Sorry for causing the death of my father? Well apology accepted after all I didn't lose much, can you leave now?"
"Babe,it was the work of the devil,I made a one time mistake that doesn't mean I don't still love you,I miss you,I miss your laughter,I miss the way you smile when I mispronounce some words,all in all,i still love you" "Awwwn how romantic, one time mistake?

You're totally deranged,you got married to her and you guys have a child, a one time, mistake?you have to be kidding me? Richmond i hate you, I hate you with every fibre in me" i feel a hand touch my shoulder "Please forgive me" "Get your dirty hands off me" I felt him withdraw "Ivan get him out of here now or you're fired" i say breathing with anger,I feel like strangling him "dad i am sorry,I should've listened to you when you told me to not get involved with him" I wept while clenching my chest,the pain is too much,I feel like dying.
I stood then i felt arms around my waist,I felt tingles go up my spine "Ivan is that you?" "Yes ma" I laid my head on his chest "Please take me home" he lead me to the car and we drove home.

Richmond's Pov
It was a Friday morning,I was in my pent house watching tv,I decided to stay home for work and rest,I was watching a football match between Manchester United and Chelsea,to which Chelsea was winning 1-0 when I heard the doorbell ring, and opening it was the beginning of a big mistake.

I tried chasing her but i was naked and i had to dress up first,by the time i had gotten dressed,she had already driven off. I drove to her place, when I had entered,I went straight to her room on my way there I had bumped into a maid, considering the situation I was in i had no time to scold the clumsy bitch "Sir i..I am...am very sorry I didn't see you there,I swear sir" she pleaded ignoring her plea I asked about the whereabout of her madam and that's when she told me that Mrs Deborah had received a call from a hospital telling her to rush over because small madam had gotten into an accident, my heart skipped a beat and guilt washed over me "God I pray she's fine" I mumbled .

I called her mum and she picked on the third ring, I could hear her crying "Richy,harmony is in the hospital" she sobbed "What?" I tried to act surprised "Which hospital "the win...wincostin hospital" she said while sniffing "I'll be on my way" I rushed out of the house and drove to the hospital as quickly as i could. When I got there i could see her mum at the reception,as soon as she rushed to me and hugged me,weeping on my shoulder,she asked "Why did this have to happen to my baby? Why? She was so full of life,she can't leave me" "ma it's just God's plan,have you informed her father? "No" she said "I will call him later". When the doctor came to inform us she was in a coma I couldn't help but weep,it was all my fault.

Since that day I had kept up with her daily health, I knew when they moved her abroad for proper treatment and I also knew she became blind and lost our baby,it broke me and I know she will hate but truth is I still love her and want her back

I had started drinking after Getting married to Meg,each day i saw her,I felt irritated and just wanted to strangle,I had planned to divorce her immediately after she gives birth. And when she put to bed, I had given her 5 months to breastfeed our child before I eventually got rid of her< And now that I have found Harmony I'll make sure I get her back one way or the other and I'll never let her go again.

At that moment i wished i had never known her,I wished I could kill her,I hated all those times she'll talk about how cute he was,the nice things he had done for her,how romantic he was,I had tried my best to swallow my jealousy, I swear to God that I had tried,but I couldn't, I didn't even feel guilty when I almost killed her the day i poisoned her but her stupid mother just had to call and request for her presence before she had the chance to take a sip of the drink.

I had always planned to seperate those two love birds and an opportunity presented itself when I had gone to tell him lies about Harmony, knowing that she was pregnant,I wanted to feed him with lies that she was sleeping around then when he was broken i would serve him a drugged drink that'll make him want me then I'll get pregnant for him because i was ovulating at that time but the idiot made things easier for me when he had served both of our drinks,
he went inside to answer a business call giving me the opportunity to drug him. When he came back,I excitedly watched him gulp down his drink, it didn't take time for my plan to get into progression and it was even better than I planned when Harmony caught both of us in bed.

I later got pregnant and we got married but he always treated me like trash,he didnt talk to me,didnt look at me,didnt touch make love to me,he even refused to eat my food and to make matters worse immediately after I had birth he presented divorce papers to me,while I was in the hospital, what audacity,he had only allowed me to stay for a short time to breastfeed little harmony. Yes he had named that little brat after my worst enemy.
I had hated her more and even began hating my little girl and breastfeeding her felt like torture.

After Richmond divorced me and took my child away,I had been forced into living from hand to mouth,i had resort into doing prostitution to fend for myself,it hadn't been easy,there were times when some customers fucked me so roughly i had to stay a away from work for some days,there was a time i was beaten miserably by a customer who had refused to pay me,
I had committed so many abortions too,the last one I did caused damages to my womb and now currently can't give birth, and honestly I'm happy about that,I will never want a child to have a mother like me and to also live this horrible life I'm living.

3 days have passed since I was kidnapped,I was locked in a well furnished room,I was even clothed and well fed,who ever kidnapped me must be rich and my have taken a liking to me,a tall well built man wearing a mask is usually the one who brings me food,today he had brought me chicken soup, garnished with all types of me,like wow,when I was done eating, the man who brings me food came to carry the food,like how did he know "hello,please why am I here? What's going on? Who are you guys? What do you want from me?"

I rushed my questions"; once my boss comes,all your questions will be answered" he replied, I wonder who's his boss,what does he want from me,I was a bit nervous and excited to meet this boss,could It be one of my rich customers who had fallen in love with me but is to shy to approach me? It is a possibility.

I was still pondering on my situation when the door open and two hefty men came and pulled me up "what is happening?" I asked but got no reply "Where are you taking me to?" "You are going to meet the boss" he said and something about the way he said it made me shiver. I was led into a room and tied to a chair,I kept looking around when I heard footsteps coming towards me,I looked up to see a different man wearing a mask but his mask was different, he wore a suit and wore rich perfumes, I am sure he's the boss,he looks quite handsome even with the mask "please what do you want from me? I have no money,please just let me go,I can offer you anything you want" "oh we'll let you go"

"Mark get the tool box" he said &"What tool box,what are you going to do to me?" The guy who had been bringing me food suddenly brought a large box,my heart skipped a beat,what are they planning on doing?.
The box was opened, I could see different tools inside ranging from pliers to knives,handgloves,hacksaw,box cutters,tin snippers,my heart was pounding so loudly I felt it would break my ribs, God please help me "please let me go" I cried and begged "i beg of you,I have a child to take care of please" I pleaded. The guy took the piler and brought it close to me "please no!!!"

General's pov
Slowly and painfully the torturer removed Megs toes one by one with the plier,she screamed in shocked and then fainted. Being kind enough they let her rest for a short time and with a splash of cold water,she woke up with a start,praying that the nightmare she just had should remain a nightmare,it was when the pain shot up through her veins did she realize that it was just a dream but is her deadly reality,looking up to the torturer who was named blaze by his colleagues,he shot her an evil smirk,he proceeded to put a knife on a hot coal located at the extreme corner of the room.

Shaking in fear and trepidation, she wondered what sort of torture would be meted on her next, she didnt have to wonder for long when she saw blaze approach her with the knife which had become very hot and was glowing red with the evil smirk plastered on his face, screaming and crying, she begged him,but all pleas fell on dear ears as he proceeded to gouge out her eyes leading her to black out.

She allowed him lead her into a room and felt him tie her to a chair,she couldn't see what's around her,she could only hear shuffled feets towards her,she felt someone hold her head,her heartbeat raced,what was going To happen to her,she didn't ponder for too long when she felt a hot iron on her head, "aaaaaaaaaaah" she screamed.

When she didn't pass out,she heard him chuckle "oooh ya a strong girl now,lets see how strong you are, Thomas,Andrew carry her to the torture room and switch on the electric stick,she will be so SHOCKED to know how many volts of electricity can kill a human" Blaze ordered his minions "we're "noo please,what have I done to deserve this" she screamed as she was led into the room

General pov
Date: September 10th; 4:30 am
A woman can be seen jogging towards towards Lake Tahoe, the biggest lake in California, it's beautiful sights,how the water sparkles when the moon reflects on it always intrigued her,the chirping of insects and birds,and it's calm and peaceful scene had made her love going there when she was feeling sad and troubled,she loved dipping her leg in the ice cold water and ponder and that's what she planned on doing as she went on her morning jog,she need to clear her head.

8:30 am
A swarm of police officers can be seen gathered around lake Tahoe, a detective crosses through the 'do not cross line', he brings out his police badge to show the officer inspecting the area
"Hi,I am Detective Caleb from the CIA,I am the detective in charge of cases surrounding murder and homicide" he introduces while shaking hands with the officer "what can you tell me about this case?" He asks "well" the officer says "the witness who reported the case to us said she tripped on the body during her morning jog going back to see what she had tripped on,she found the body"

"The victim is a woman, around the age of 25-27 years, blond hair,assumed time of death is between 5pm to 7pm yesterday,and cause of death is heart attack resulting from the electric shock she received before her death,the heart attack killed her before the electricity could've done it's work,there has also been signs of torture as she has some missing toes and her eyes had been removed"
he says while they approach the body "also while doing a search to find a source of identification, one of our officers noticed,a sign of R on her forehead made by a hot metal,I think this could be a lead to our murderer sir". "Did you find any source of identification on her?" "Yes sir,the victim's name is Margaret Winston, former wife of Mr Richmond Brooks, Age 28 and one of the wealthiest CEO in California and the mother of his child.

An hour later
At the residence of Mr Richmond Brooks.
Ding dong! The doorbell could be heard ringing in the ringing,a maid opens up to find two police officers at the door, "Hello how can i help you?" "Hello I am detective Caleb and this is my partner Detective David, we're here to see your boss Mr Richmond Brooks can you please inform him we'll want to see him "sorry Mr Richmond is not around, he went to work early this morning" "we will get going now,thanks for your time" and without answering them,the maid shuts the door.

Rich companies is a company owned by Richmond which he had inherited the company from his father at the tender age of 18,it specializes in the production of and he had made sure he worked hard to build it to where it is now,hesure now made sure reviewed every papers before signing, attending every board meetings, travelling in search of newer investor, he did all that was required of a proper CEO, and looking at where the company is now,he felt very proud.

He was still going over the deal he had recently bagged with a multi national company, when his office land line rang,he frowned deeply, he hated interruptions when he was working,he picked up "what?" "okay let them in" he said then dropped the call and focused on his work,a minute later the two detectives walked in. "Yes how may i help you?" He asked without looking up "i am detective Caleb and this is my partner Detective David, we're here on regards to Miss Margaret Winston"

On hearing the name mentioned he looked up "please pardon my manners,have a sit" after taking a sit the Caleb continued "we heard she was your wife" "yes,she was,why do you ask?" "We found her dead body near a lake this morning,she was tortured and murdered,how can you describe her character and do you know anyone she was not in good terms in" "Well she was troublesome,proud and selfish but apart from her ex best friend I don't know anyone who she has really hurt deeply" "if we may ask what's her friend's name"

"Harmony,harmony Biggs" "also Mr Richmond, we saw a sign of R on her forehead we think was put by her murderer,does this Harmony have any other name that starts with an r? Maybe a baptismal name,her maiden name?"
"No,not that I know off and I am pretty sure harmony isn't her murderer apart from the fact that she can't hurt a fly,she's also blind and is therefore bed ridden".
The detectives stand up ready to "Alright thank you for your co-operation and the information you have given us,we shall keep in touch" he says while stretching his hand for a shake, Richmond engulfs it with his own palm "no problem detective?" "Caleb,detective Caleb" "Alright, my secretary will show you the way out"

It has been exactly a month since the body of meg was found by the lake and the police couldn't still find anything that will produce a hint about the murderer,they had interviewed every suspect including harmony who told them since her accident she had never come in contact with the victim
It was a cool evening, a party could be seen happening in the house of the Biggs,cocktails were being served by waiters ,shining lights,elegantly dressed people were at every corner,some drinking, some dancing to the smooth jazz blasted by the music sets and some talking and laughing when the music stopped and the clanging of a glass cup was heard,it was the Mc of the "Ladies and gentlemen can i have your attention please?"

He looked around and when he saw that he had gained their attention he continued "As you all know,we are here to Celebrate the life of one the most spectacular woman in this country, today is her birthday and she has invited us here to drink and make merry, so let's put our hands together as we welcome our celebrant and hostess Mrs Deborah Briggs". A round of applause could be heard as she walked to the stage,upon arriving, she took the Mic from the Mc "Thank you all for gathering here to celebrate this wondrous occasion with me,as you all know.."

she was cut short by a deep coughs,the Mc hands her a bottle of water "Sorry for the interruption" her speech was once again cut short by another cough,she felt pain in abdomen,it was as if something was cutting her from the inside,she suddenly started bleeding from her nose and mouth,she couldn't breathe, the walls of her lungs were closing in blocking air from entering her body and preventing the proper flow of blood, every where was silent as they watched her in horror.

No one could make a move as they were glued to the floor by shock,harmony wondered why everywhere was silent, she couldn't even hear her mum's speech,was she going deaf too, Mrs Deborah continued struggling until she slumped and went still, everywhere went wild as screams could be heard mostly from the women present,the mc rushed towards the body and tried to check for a pulse,there was nothing "Someone call an ambulance" he screamed "someone call an ambulance quickly" he screamed again when no one answered him, "They're on their way" a man in a blue suit screamed back.

There where already at the stairs when she heard screams,she wanted to run back but she was held back,presumably by Ivan,she cursed being blind,she if she wasn't blind then e wouldn't have been so helpless,but who would want her mum dead,why were people she knew suddenly dying?
Who was going to be next,apart from her bodyguards, she had no other sort of protection, she couldn't allow them in her room to watch her sleeping, even though she couldn't see them ,it was still creepy,what if they come for her next.

She brushed away her thoughts,sniffing she rested her head on richys shoulders "What are we going to do" she asked "how am I going to cope? I was just getting over the death of my father now my mum?" She couldn't help the torrent of tears running down her face
She felt a hand force something soft into her hands, "that's a tissue,dry your tears baby,everything will be alright, I'm here for you " she heard Richy say,she cleaned her tears and the mucus from her nose,cleaned "How am i going to cope?, what if I am next?

I can't live in that house alone,what if they come for me? What if the murderer of my mum decides to finish me off?" "Shhh don't think like that" "i have to" she cut him off "It's called facing reality,don't talk to me like I am a kid,I'm blind not stupid" she felt him kiss her forehead "i know you're not stupid, and you don't need to live alone,you can move In with me,I know this is sudden but I promise to protect you,and I won't try to touch you if you don't want me to".

Detective Caleb can be see discussing with his partner while going through pictures "Victim is Mrs Deborah Briggs, mother of Harmony Briggs who we had interrogated concerning the death of Margaret Winston, Age 42, investigators said she her drink was poisoned with Sodium Hydroxide a strong alkaline substance used in the manufacture of paint and detergents, or as a drain cleaner" "Forensic says the poison had caused the walls of her lungs to close up hindering the transportation of air into her blood cells,also they said she bleed out of her nose and mouth before she slumped and died"

David said "We also interrogated all the waiters and servers in the party if they saw something unusual or someone acting suspicious, nervous or agitated and none of them said they saw anything"
